Last weekend, I planned a super fun stay-cation (like a vacation, but you stay closer to home) with my mom and sister. It was one of the most fun weekends we've had in a really long time! We decided to go explore an area a little ways away from our home so we stayed at the newly-renovated Embassy Suites by Seattle North Lynwood.
Here's what we did that weekend and some of my favorite parts from it!
We drover up on Friday evening just in time for the hotel's complimentary happy hour filled with free snacks and drinks. It was an awesome way to start our weekend. The first thing I noticed about the hotel was how sweet everyone working was. Even though the hotel was busy and so many people were staying there, everyone working there was incredibly accommodating and hospitable.
After we were stuffed (and excited) from happy hour, we decided to go explore our new room for the next couple of days. I was so impressed by how clean and comfy it was! Here are some pictures from our room!
That Friday night, we also decided to grab dinner at the restaurant downstairs in the hotel named Cascades. The quality of the food was amazing! I usually don't like hotel food, but I was so impressed by how home-y the food tasted!
When we were fully stuffed, we decided to go upstairs and get some rest in our lovely hotel room. We had a fun night of hanging out, watching one of our favorite movies, and just relaxing together.
In the morning, there was delicious breakfast served on the main floor! We headed downstairs to the smell of fresh eggs and baked goods. I was starving! Can we talk about how yummy my breakfast looked??!
After breakfast, we decided to go explore the area we were in! Lynnwood is a pretty unique town, and my family has never really fully gotten to explore it. So we headed to the mall and some other unique landmarks of the city that day. It was super fun and reminded me of a more low-key Seattle.
When we finally were done with the day, we came back to our resting point - our comfy hotel room! It was so nice to just plop on the bed after a long day. At night, we decided to go explore a nearby fair that was happening. Just a 6 minute drive from the hotel, the fair had lots of street food and FIREWORKS! It was so fun and so random, but we loved it! I put videos of the fireworks on my Instastories and will move it to my highlights once it expires too :)
Since we were so poooooped that night, we went straight to bed! We started off with breakfast (again, it was SO YUMMY) and then we packed up said goodbye to our wonderful hotel room by checking out. It was such a fun weekend overall and so nice to have a lil getaway with my mom and sister. If you need a lil vacation, I highly recommend taking one in or near Seattle like we did!
