6 Months of Blogging!

A couple days ago, I spent the afternoon talking things over with one of my best friends. She had been out of the country and traveling, but we picked up right where we left off. Every time I talk to her in these long conversations of ours, I always end up learning more about myself. This time, I really got to reflect on my blogging journey and what's come of it. In the last year, my life has taken some drastic turns and changes. When I launched my Instagram in July and my blog in December of 2016, I had no idea how much it would help me grow as a person and how drastically different my life would look like thanks to it. I can say that it’s been one of the greatest blessings in my life to date.

I had wanted to start a consistent blog talking about beauty, fashion, and lifestyle for as long as I can remember. I think the first time I tried, I was in the 6th grade (back when AOL was the cool). I also explored Tumblr and Pinterest a lot. It was really when I worked in the corporate world for the first time as a Marketing Intern, I knew my passions for social media and online marketing were just starting to spark. I absolutely LOVED the content I came across on the blogs I came across - they were not only inspiring but oh so beautiful, and everyone knows how much I adore beautiful things! I decided to go for it and start my own blog. I’m SO happy I did. No matter what struggles, heartbreaks, losses, or hardships came my way this year, my blog was there for me to work on, take my mind off things, and be a sort of blossoming flower that I needed to nurture and take care of. It definitely is not an easy thing to accomplish or keep up with, but I’m glad I started it and have stuck to it.

Something that’s helped me non-stop has been the Seattle blogger community! The girls and gentlemen of it are some of the nicest, sweetest, and most Aani-like people I have ever met. Everyone is so willing to grab coffee, chat, and hangout. Blogging is not the most social hobby out there, and for a social butterfly life myself, it can get pretty lonely sometimes. I’m so happy that I have this great community to reflect back on. Actually, all the photos in today’s post are from the first Blogger Conference I ever attended! I wore these suede collette pants, a blue cropped tank, and TopShop funky jacket. I also wore hot pink heels and earrings because I love a touch of color and statement accessories!

Some things I've learned!
  • It's okay to take a break and not blog for a week or two. If my heart wasn't fully in the content I was publishing, then I knew I needed to take some time for myself and come back stronger.
  • Everyone has an opinion on what you do and what you say, but it's important to only listen to the one's from people you genuinely care about.
  • Having a planner makes life SO much easier. Instead of having this never-ending stress bubble over your head of things to do, a planner makes sure you're prioritizing and getting things accomplished.
  • Friends who blog will understand your struggles like no other! It's so nice to have people around who don't judge ya for taking 74 pictures of my morning latte or spending a solid 10 minutes getting the perfect Boomerang of your mocktails.
  • What I wear is always changing... I go from New York to LA style every other week and that's just a part of what I like to do and who I am. It's your blog so you can choose what to share and how.

  2. You look stunning Aani.
I have always struggled that all of my friends didn't understand why I have to take images of my coffee and my cute cake. Till I met a fellow blogger who did the same as I was doing.
    Totally understand you.
